I am also new. My 3 month old is chewing on her hands. Is she teething? Or just bored? She drools a lot. I thought she was too young to start teething. I asked my mom and she said I was born with a tooth already in. Is this possible??

It is perfectly normal. My daughter "teethed" it seemed like forever! Have you noticed any bumps around the gum though? That will tell you if the teeth need to come through. If so and she's having trouble, i suggest rubbing her gums for at least 10 minutes every night. I used Baby Orajel nighttime and this really helped her to sleep better! I bought one of those little rubber toothbrushes for babies and she loved me to rub her gums with that. Hope this helps!

What exactly do you mean teething? Mine both did the whole drooling thing starting about 4 months but neither got teeth until after 7 months. So the chewing and drooling may not be teething, just part of being a baby. If she's teething she could be clingy, have trouble sleeping, have low grade fever or diarrhea. And some babies don't seem to experience any of those. And if you are worried about when she'll get her teeth-don't...esp if you are breastfeeding b/c if they try those teeth out on you it hurts way worse than just the gums! -- Christy 34 (Mommy) Ashley 35 (Daddy) Cassidy 10/9/04 Lizzy 11/28/06

So no one has posted here, but I thought I'd ask a ques & see if I get any help. My DD is almost 7 mos. old. She has been "teething" since around 5 mos, but those teeth won't pop through! Is this normal?
