Re: potty training help please!!!!!!!!!!

I'm having a similar issue with my 3 yr old. He's fully pee trained and wears under wear all day long. He has just recently started to go to bed with just undies on, and haven't had any accidents yet (knock on wood). However he flat out refuses to poop on the toilet. He actually had been doing it for about a week a few months back, and then one day decided not to do it anymore. The past few days, because we've been doing the undies at night thing, he can't sneak up super early and poo in his pullup....so he's obv. had to go badly and just decided to poo in his underwear...I got him all cleaned up, fresh underwear on again and I heard him yelling "I did it again" and lo and behold, he'd pooped in his undies again!! I have offered him treats, toys, sleepovers to just do it on the toilet, but he just refuses! He's not afraid of the toilet he just tells me "I can't, I don't know how" I really hope he gets over this fast!!!

My daughter told me that she had to poop on the potty and that is what started the training. She was three weeks poop trained and then we pee trained her in one week. It is the best not having to buy diapers. I really don't know about the not pooping on the potty. I think within time he will go and it has to be up to him. Girls are a lot easier in the training department because they have to sit for everything. Sorry i'm not much of a help. -- Celena 28 Madelyn 01-26-08 Allye Jane 12-17-06 Jacob 11 years old

I would say maybe he is not ready. The way I did with Drew was once he had peeing down, I let him be naked in the house. He would come to me and ask for a diaper when he had to poop. I just told him no youa re a big boy now and big boys go in the potty. I stressed to him not to go on the floor either. He finally did it and I made the biggest deal about I think the neighbors heard us celebrating. -- Now that I am a mother I have found that raising a baby is all common sense. I am sorry that no one has answered you yet. Hope things are going well for you. I am trying to train my son too. He was 2 in Feb. He wont poop on the potty either. He is my 4th child. One thing that worked for my second son was bought a special toy ( for him a small motor cyclye)put it up for him to see but didnt give it to him until he went, he was pooping in the potty within a week. That didnt work for this one. I bought small things for this one, match box cars, tattos, fruit chews, etc I wrapped them as he loves to unwrap & told him when he went he could open one. He still holds it, he will go & hide in another room so you know what he is doing but he will hold it. I was actually training him in Jan. I talked to his Dr. the end of Feb & she said put him back in diapers he wasnt ready. He just started showing interest again, but still holding his poop Will give it a few more days if he still holds it will wait till June. I wont have him getting constapated like my first one. She wouldhold it for a week. It was horrible. Good luck.

potty training help please!!!!!!!!!!

Right now I am potty training my 1 and 2 year olds. They are doing really good, at knowing when they haft to pee and telling me. My 2 year old actually even takes naps in his underware. But he will not poop in the potty, everytime he has to poop he will ask me to put a diaper on him. I have tried everthing I can think of to get him to go on the potty but he just wont. I am also having trouble on when to start underware at bedtime, because I went straight from diapers to underware, because I dont believe in pull ups. My one year old does great, I never even expected to start training her this early, but she is the one that decided and told me she was ready for the potty, and watching her big brother go all the time really helped her. But please if anyone can give me suggestions on bed time training and getting him to poop in the potty, I would really appreciate it. I have my 3rd due in September and I dont think as a stay at home mom I can handle having 3 in diapers. Thank you.
