Haha sounds like my Nolan.

Except he was 20 lbs. by 5 months. heh.

He reached 30 lbs. at his 12-month checkup. By 15 months he had gone down almost a full pound, and he is now 18 mos. and weighs probably less than he did at a year.

I recall one time shortly before his 1-yr birthday that he ate a container of green beans, 6 oz. of milk, probably around 12 oz. of macaroni and cheese and about half a container of apple sauce-- in one sitting.

My point is, he is still a big boy, but he enjoys healthy foods and is now learning that his plate doesn't need to be completely emptied at every sitting. And we focus a lot more on being active, outdoors when possible, and eating good foods... much more important to me than quantity

Of course, if I am eating something, he still thinks he needs to eat some of it as well... that's just normal toddler behavior, I think.

First of all, breathe. :) It's completely normal actually. I have a daughter about your sons age and wow, he sounds little compared to her. My daughter is 28lbs, but she's 34-35 inches long or something. I can't remember from the last time she went. Anyway, my little one LOVES to eat. Really loves it. My dr. said to let her eat until she's full. Now, I make sure she gets full from fruits and veggies and not unhealthy stuff.
And yep, my daughter is the same way. No matter how much she just ate, she will want to eat again if she sees someone else eating. We started feeding her the same time we sat down for dinner to cut that part out. It has helped tremendously. At first, we did have to give her a snack like cheerios to tide her over until we were ready for dinner, but now it works like a charm. We sit down to eat at the same time and get up at the same time. This keeps her from eating twice at least. Then she has play time, bath time, a cup and bed. I hope this helps a little. I know how frustrating it is though...it's hard to keep anything in the cabinets! LOL

Monster Eater! HELP!

My son, Zachary, is 14 months old and I feel like he never stops eating! He weighs about 20 lbs and he's around 33 inches long...he's tiny & he's active. My concern is he'll eat, but he 'screams' at you like he's starving even though he just ate a whole meal. If I feed him at 5:30p and we eat at 6pm-he begs at the table and acts like he hasn't eaten! I don't know what to do about this other than to ignore him. I was at lunch the other day with some friends and he ate a whole bowl of mac and cheese plus some mandarin oranges plus some milk! I'm surprised he didn't throw it up! My girl friend wouldn't stop feeding him even though I nicely tried to tell her to stop. I talked to his doc about it and he wants me to go see a nutrionist...it's not the foods he's eating...he eats healthy-I think he eats for the flavor more than the fill-I know at his age they go through many growth spurts between now and 2 yrs., but he just eats and eats-I have to physically take him out of his highchair and give him a toy to play with...I'm frustrated because I don't want to overfeed him and give him a bad start to his eating habits for his future, but then, how do I know he's really full? The mac and cheese? That was a serving my 7 year old would eat! I ate some of it, but he ate most of it! I know for 3 meals a day he should have 8 ounces of food...can anyone give me any pointers or has anyone gone through this with their toddler? My 7 year old was a picky eater and ate in spurts...HELP!
