Our nephew picked up a nice little phrase. I think it depends on the child. If your toddler is a bit mischievous and purposefully "tries" you, ignore the phrase and divert the subject to something else. Otherwise, you can explain that they are not nice words and instead encourage a different word. Good luck. -- CPC Take the Baby Quiz at: www.gameswithbaby.com

This one is a toughy. I dropped something around my 10 month old and said the "s" word and she did that for 6 months after everytime she dropped something. I would just tell her "no baby, we say uh oh when we drop something and then i would show her." eventually, she caught on, but they catch on faster to saying the bad words than correcting them. If he gets hears it from you and your husband, he will probably continue to say it so I would watch what you say around him. (and believe me...I have really had to catch myself alot! LOL). If he hears it from somewhere else, I would look into that. You can't fix something until you know the source. Anyway, i hope this helps. I can't say to punish them until they know better, so to correct them or give them another word to use hopefully will work until they understand better.

My Three year old has been saying several bad words lately. More so when he doesn't get his own way. What would be a good way to get him to stop. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. Mommy 24 Daddy 25 Shawn 3
