Oh yeah!! A couple more things. If your baby has a yeast infection ask his/her pediatrician for Vusion. It is really great. It will be noticeable clearer within a day. And another thnig is, if he/she has a diaper rash or a yeast infection, it makes it easier and actually more comfortable for your baby if you use a spray bottle with warm water in it and spray his/her bottom while wiping him/her. I keep a bottle of water on my changing table. My baby never cries anymore when I am changing him.

Hi! My name is Heather and I am a CNA. I have a 4 year old and a little one who will actually be a year old tomorrow. The best thnig I have found is Aquaphor. It is about $8.00 at Wal-Mart. You can find it in the moisterizer department. And sometimes they will have it in the baby department. I have used them both and they work about the same. Now on my patients at work I have learned that mixing Balmex and Hydrocortizone and applying it to the affected area after you have cleaned it and dried it completely works very well on skin break down on patients who are bedridden or wear depends. I have also tried the Aquafor mixed with Mallox or Mylanta. The Mallox or Mylanta is used to coat your stomach when you have ulcers or heartburn so it actually coats the sores while the cream keeps wetness off and helps to heal the area. I hope one of these helps you and your little one. Good Luck.

My suggestion would be vaseline. Excuse the spelling i know it isn't right. But my little girl started to get a diaper rash and that was all I had to work with at the moment so I used some and the next day it started to clear up and by the third day it was gone and it also helps to prevent diaper rash because it keeps there little bottoms protected. But it was just a suggestion good luck and hope you find something.

Desitin or Bordeaux butt paste both work really well for diaper rash. Could the diaper be irritating the rash or his bottom? I couldn't use the generic diapers on my oldest son because they broke him out in a rash. I would try switching to a different diaper brand and see if that helps. I havn't even tried generic diapers on my youngest son. We use the Huggies supreme natural fit diapers. They are wonderful! My son got a bad rash in the creases of his legs and I put zinc ointment on it but it was getting worse. Poor thing, his skin was starting to peel. I have an aloe plant, so I broke of a stalk, squeezed the liquid out and rubbed it on the red areas. Two days later and it was 90% cleared up. I don't know about over the counter stuff b/c it could have other ingredients in it that could react with your baby's sensitive skin. I use this plant for all my cuts and burns. Good luck

aquaphor for sure! as a nurse I know it also helps to soak baby's bottom 2-3 times a day in the sink or a pan in lukewarm water with 3 tbsp of baking soda- if he has red raised bumps put lotrimin cream on it but not the "ultra" formula. ( this is in the foot care aisle and a generic is available-(clotrimazole) it should clear up in 3 days or so - if not call your pediatrician- it worked wonders for my baby and she hasnt had a rash since!

With my first son we went thru every diaper rash cream til we found one that worked. We even used the cornstarch treatment and eventually resulted in using polysporean!! Finally we discovered Sudocream which we got from his pediatrician. It works fine, but is more effective when we only use it when he has a rash, rather than all the time. -- Nancy (33) Kirk (29) Isaac born Feb. 7, 2006 Gavin born Dec 23, 2007 Finally home on Jan18th

Will the breat ointment hurt it if its a yeast infection? I usually use plan ole corn starch out of the box, but if it is a yeast infection it will feed it & make it worse. I was told to get anti fugal cream & I do remember some of my daycare children using that. My friend said everytime her son is on an antibiotic he gets a rash(so does my son obviously)she used to get a prescription & now the dr. said just to buy the cream over the counter. Its for athletes foot & jock itch.

Desitin burns my baby's bum so bad she screams and tries to grab her bum while I'm smearing the desitin on. So I do not use Desitin anymore. I use Angel Baby Bottom Balm from EarthMamaAngelBaby.com Works as well as Desitin Creamy and unlike Desitin products does not hurt my already sore baby. Desitin Original Ointment hands down. But it has to be the original ointment with 40% zinc oxide. The creamy version has only 10 or 11% zinc oxide and it's no good. As soon as they pee, it comes right off. The Desitin Original Ointment stays on really well and has cleared up every diaper rash my daughter has had, even the blistering kind. -- Darlene Brandon 3 yrs Kaitlyn 17 months

I use my lansinoh breast cream on my daughter's bottom when she has a bad rash. But with your baby being on anitibiotics it can turn into a yeast infection. If the rash won't go away call your ped and tell them you think it is yeast. They will prescribed Nystatin or something else for it. -- Kelly (27) Kevin (30) Gabrielle Adeline 03/24/07 EDD for Baby #2 06/04/08 It's a Girl!

Zak just went through the same thing with an antibiotic. The doctor told me to use Aquaphor and it worked great. It cleared it up in no timeand my poor baby was so red he would tell you no every time you got out a diaper. I usually use Boudreaux's butt paste and that works really well for regular diaper rash but the other stuff keeps it off of them completely. You can get Aquaphor at most drug stores, it's in the cosmetics section. If it's really bad you can get this stuff called laxitine (sp) from the pharmacy (without a prescription) which is basicly the stuff in yogart only concentrated. Hope your little ones better soon. -- Sissy (29) 1st time mom Ron (30) 1st time dad Zak July 27, 2006
