I too did not give my daughter any meat until she was at least 10 months old.
when u are looking at the jars of food in the stores look of the age.they will tell when is the right age for the right type of food.
make sure that the first thing u give them to try after the cereal is a veggie b/c if u give a fruit first they will not take to the veggies very well. This happened to me and I had a hard time get my daughter to eat the veggies.
hope this helps u out.
also try going to the hinez baby food web site and they should have a break down of all the baby food that the carry with ages and when to start.
all the best of luck

Wow.... I personally didn't give my kids pureed meats until they were closer to a year. They are much harder to digest than some fruits/veggies. What I did about that age was rice cereal/oatmeal mixed with 1/4 jar of fruit (and milk) for breakfast. For Lunch: I would do a veggie & milk.... the amount I think depends on the child and how long they've been on solids. Dinner - 2 veggies (one green, one orange) That with milk throughout the day was way plenty for my boys
I wouldn't give him tons of food if he's just now getting into solids.
I think my boys went through about 2 jars a day on food then (plus the cereal) ....mine also had serious digestive issues (that's the only reason I know about the meat thing!) Good Luck. Erin in Houston

Talk to your peditrician. He told me when my son was that age that as long as he was getting a certain amount of formula & baby food in general he was ok. Sorry its been a lil bit so I don't remember the amounts, hope this helps.

My son wouldn't eat anything but the fruits or meats with fruits, he wasn't crazy about veggies.

Feeding question

I've been looking at different suggested feeding quidelines for babies trying to find out what to give my 6.5 month old at each meal.
He just started eating the pureed meats. Most things I've ready suggest 1/4-1/2 jar of Fruits, same for veggie, same for meat.
The meat I have been feeding my son has a fruit and a veggie mixed right into it. Should I still be giving him the extra fruit and veggie? Or just giving him the whole jar of the meat/veg/fruit mix?
