i think you have every right to be concerned. I am a licenced child care providerand i have been in the bussiness for 12 years, so i know alot about the subject of daycare. i am the owner of anna's daycare a home daycare in albuquerque nm. i agree the 4-1 ratio is not that great, i have a 2-1 ratio. i currently have an openning for an infant. if you could email me maybe we could get in touch and i could help you out more with this problem. my email address is anna1196@msn.com. i would like if you would email me soon thank you!!! hope i can be of much help to you.

I looked into home daycare but I do not know anyone well enough and I am concerned about having enough eyes on him. If I really knew someone I could trust, it woud deffinitely be different. The 4-1 stinks! From what I saw, they were more attentive t the younger babies but he is going to grow up.
Thank you all for the advice!

My son is 7 months and I prefer a home day care. I had my son in a home day care and he loved it and I loved the small setting then unexpectedly she had to shut down and I had to rush into a day care center. I do not like the 4-1 ratio. I think it is overwhelming for the workers seeing as all the babies are young. We are looking into getting home day care again as soon as possible. I completely understand the concerns you have. I hope this helps.

My son started daycare on monday, he just turned to 5months old on tuesday, 5 month still a little for me but i don't have no choice because i have to go back to work.
The daycare i took my son is pretty good. The person who take care my baby using her house (she has a license). She using her daughther bedroom for babies. she has cribs and basket for another babies. Her house is really clean and she has a play room for the kid.
I think the improtant thing is the daycare has to be clean and have enough babysitter. If daycare that you took your son is clean i think is should be ok. How many kid do they have? I prefer not too many kid. (my daycare had 2 infants and 3 toddler)
For other kid you cannot control but for your kid i think you can tell them to do or don't, just tell them what ever you want them to do. For me i bring my own toy for my son too and i take care my son by keep him clean and warm all the time.
By the way, if you don't feel good with this daycare i think just look for a new daycare.
Good Luck.

daycare

I need to know how to feel comfortable with leaving my son at daycare. I have a 3 month old and he will be starting daycare in one week. I have spent a couple days sitting in at the center and I do not know what is supposed to or not happen. Someof the babies were walking around with runny noses and it worries me that they share the toys after being in another childs mouth. Is it okay for me to ask them not to allow my children to play with the daycare's toys and only the ones I bring in? Or will that effect my sons intercation with the other kids? Any adive would be appreciated! I know they have 4-1 ratio but that is a lot for babies, and I have seen that they ( not that anyone could) watch all for at once. Yesterday, a little girl took the hearing aid of another baby and was chewing on it. Should I look for another center?
