I know exactly how you feel. My husband and i just found out that we are pregnant and we were pregnant twice before and miscarried both times. So i know if i were to see spotting it would freak me out because it would bring me back to my first 2 pregnancies. I'm glad that you and your baby are doing fine! I can't wait to see how far along iam.

hey, i'm actually happy that you posted this, cause that's exactly what they said it is. they really didn't go into explanation, they just said that they are fairly common, and because of the size of the hemorrage, that it wasn't worth worrying about. they found that in my 7 week ultrasound, which i pushed to have because of my previous miscarriages. so, a few weeks later then when i started to bleed, i had forgotten about this hemorrage. anyway, when they did another ultrasound to make sure baby was ok, they said they couldn't see the hemorrage anymore, and that that was probably what the bleeding was, just the blood being expelled. sometimes i guess they do correct themselves like you said....i think that's what might have happened with me. i'm not bleeding anymore, and like i said, the hemorrage was no longer anywhere to be found on my ultrasound.
i'm happy you explained that to me though. i just kinda wrote it off, cause i guess they really didn't tell me what it was.
things are going good now though, i have another OB check next tuesday, the 25th....i'll be 11 weeks.
thanks for the info!!!!!

i was just browsing through here looking for someone i used to know from on here when i saw your psot and had to make a name to reply-i started spotting and bleeding they did blood work and ultrasounds and scared the crud out of me! it turned out i had a subchorionic hemorrhage which is a really obscure placenta complication thats not in the pregnancy books, webmd doesnt have anything on it, its not even in the dictioanry! if you google it youll get a lot of clinical papers and personal accounts.

im not trying to be obnoxious or scare you i just wanted to let you know of one possibility! its when part of the placenta lifts from the wall and bleeding occurs there. no one agrees on how to monitor it but theres no way to fix it, no way to keep it from getting bigger, if it gets bigger it can lift the whole thing from the wall-again NOT TO SCARE YOU!!!- BUT! the majority of them resolve themselves, the palcenta reattactches, the bleeding stops and you go on to have a normal full term baby! just take it easy and dont be afraid to inquire about all your possibilities! some peoples personal accounts tell how their docters didnt mention it til later becasue they didnt want to scare their patients

i myself spotted on and off for 4 weeks before it resolved itself and now were taking it one day at a time! im sure your baby will be fine and itll be a scare that you can share with your friends and people on message baords too!

4 weeks til my next ultrasound and hopefully there wont be any blood clots in there! itll be all baby!

The bits of clots and brown blood are old stuff making its way out. When they checked you out, they probably caused you to bleed a bit more. So you may have remnants coming out for another day more. I had a very similar occurrence in the first three months with mine, and everything turned out fine. I think it is very normal to have a little bleeding here and there, because as things stretch, delicate vessels will break once in a while, esp. at first. I also had some in the last three months. Your doctors said you both are great, so try to remember that, although it's only natural to worry, I did, and I didn't have the history you did.. The only time you should go get checked out right away is bright red bleeding accompanied by pain, and clots large, like a golfball. (((((((hugs))))))))) it sounds like everything is going just fine!

I spotted pretty heavy at the beginning of both my pregnancies and even had some Large bright red clots for this one. I am now 28 weeks pregnant and the baby seems to be doing fine. Good Luck with your pregnancy. I hope it works out for you this time.

Hugs Tiffany!! Pregnancy is so scary add some spotting and it is just overwhelming. Please call your doctor again. I know that you were reassured yesterday but today is another day. The blood and tissue may old and a result of whatever was happening yesterday. Blood tends to pool in spots and perhaps a certain movement or sleep position allowed for the rest to come out. At any rate i would contact my doctor to let them know. Good luck to you and keep us posted!

spotting and clotting

Mar 14, 2008 8:26 AM

so.....i'm a little nervous still although i was told i really shouldn't be. yesterday, i woke up to find that i was spotting, i would say a little heavier than a 'light' spot. it was brownish in color, which i was told was rather normal. however, there were also pieces of red tissue in the toilet, about the size of my pinky finger. i went into the dr. and they did an ultrasound yesterday and everything appeared to be fine and the baby is still doing well, eventually the spotting tapered off and stopped by evening. Then this morning, i woke up and i found out that the spotting has started again, still brown, but now there are brownish colored clots as well. i know i was reassured yesterday, but this still kinda worries me cause i've had 2 miscarriages before (one rather recently). This is our 3rd pregnancy, and we have no children yet so i'm crossing my fingers and just praying that we make it through these next few weeks and then we'll be out of the woods least. Anyone else have this happen?? i know spotting is relatively normal, but the clotting and tissue??? i guess i still need some reassurance.
