I heard that sleeping on your left side delivers more nutrients to your baby through your placenta. -- 1st time Mom, Kara(21) 2ed time Dad, Russell(36) Our First baby, born: Aug. 18 2006!!!! During my first full-term pregnancy I tried the left side, it worked fine. This time I can't hardly get comfy at all on my left and sleep much better on my right. I'd say try the left, but if you find yourself on the right when you wake up, don't freak yourself out.

Hi, it's my first baby and I slept comfortably on my stomach up until about my second trimester. I don't think anything is wrong with that, I am now 25 weeks and my baby is healthy and fine.

I just had a question to ask, I'm pregnant for the third time, my first two i had miscarried and i've heard that its not good to sleep on your stomache and your back while your pregnant. Is that when you first become pregnant or after the first trimester??? Because i'm not showing to much right now, i just found out.

Sleeping or laying on your left side is wonderful for heartburn too! It keeps the acids down in your stomach. If you experience heartburn, try your right and then your left. I always have some relief on L side.

I didn't sleep on my left side for a long time and then I started having problems with my kidney on my right side. They told me it was very important to sleep on the left side for you and for the baby. The baby gets more oxygen for some reason if you lay on your left. The kidney problems fixed themselves after I delivered. Next time I will always sleep on the left.!!!

Actually, I have been told by my OB that there is some validity to this - something about the blood flow to the baby being better. I just don't remember at what point in the pregnancy this becomes an issue.

Ladies, i don't know, all i do know is it doesn't matter which side i sleep on, i can't get comfy. I think my mattress may be too firm but i am now having to sleep on a pillow from my hips up. I am six months.

I know that when you have high blood pressure the dr's ask you to sleep on your left side. It has something to do with your heart being on the left. I'm no professional on this subjuct. I also know that sometimes when your in labor the nurses want you to lay on your left side as well. It does have a medical benefit. I'm sure you could call your dr's office and talk to any nurse and they can tell you exactly what it is. -- Happy Momma to: Logan Keith - 4/21/06 10 lbs 3.3 oz. 21 1/2 inches long.
