I don't have any children with asthma(thank goodness...i worry enough and they are healthy LOL), but I am a nursing student, and have learned a bit about the disease. If your parents have a lot of dust(not to say they aren't clean...I live out in the country and its just unavoidable), or pets(dander) that could be a cause. Other common allergens could also trigger asthma, as could the child being exposed to cigarette smoke on a regular basis(no preaching here...i smoke). Stress is not a cause of asthma so stop beating yourself up! You are obviously a good mommy, or you wouldn't be doing so much research. the mom who replied before me is also dead on with the inheritance factor as well as the course of treatment. You are not to blame, hon...just follow your doctors instructions and keep being diligent!!! I am a worrier also, so I know the fear and guilt of being a mommy, but you are doing a wonderful job.

Well I have a 19 month old and a 38 month old and they both have asthma. I have been told by their doctors that asthma is worse during the winter months. Both of my kids are on 2 inhalers as well as taking breathing tratments. Then they also take singular chewable tablets. It might seem like alot of medications but it works great, I hardly have any problems with them weesing or having asthma attacks as long as I stay on top of their medications. But I have never heard of stress as being a trigger, because I was told my kids have it because it runs in the family with their dad also having it.

Oh boy!!! ok my little one has had a cold and now apperantly the Dr. says its asthma!! all day we had to take him to the ER for treatments every 4 hours and the poor little one was weezing like mad and not to mention breaking my heart! im not sure what exactly has trigger'd this event or illness but im running threw every possible thing and feeling very very guilty. yousee the day after him and i moved out of our family home he came down with this. We moved in with my parents where he has stayed before numeriours times so its not like its unformailur for him. i hear stress is a HUGE trigger for little ones and their asthma. i guess im just asking if there are other parents with children with asthma and if you can maybe give me some helpful pointers.... this is scary
